From overseeing multimillion-dollar engineering projects around the world to co-founding a care organization for children with disabilities, Rick’s achievements reflect his unique ability to combine operational excellence with heartfelt leadership. 1995 – Global Manufacturing Begins

Supervised the fabrication of a 540T/hr ship unloader in China. This hands-on international project launched Rick’s career in heavy manufacturing and engineering.

2001 – Defense & Infrastructure Innovation

Led the development of specialty crane systems for the U.S. Navy and military infrastructure. Pioneered engineering solutions used to handle high-risk ordnance with precision and safety.

2010 – Alberta Energy Leadership

Directed $1B+ of transmission, energy, and infrastructure projects for multiple companies, shaping Alberta’s power grid and critical infrastructure.

2021 – Co-Founding Elevated Abilities

Launched Elevated Abilities to support children with disabilities and their families. Built a diverse team and created a sustainable, inclusive care model serving 200+ families in Alberta.

Formosa Plastics | 540T/hr Ship Unloader – Taiwan

Rick led quality assurance and project oversight for a 540-ton/hour ship unloader built for Formosa Plastics. Stationed in China for six months, he ensured successful delivery and compliance for one of the company’s largest port expansions.

U.S. Navy | Specialty Crane Systems

Directed the manufacturing of highly specialized cranes designed to handle cruise missiles in secure military facilities. This mission-critical work required custom R&D, defense-grade precision, and absolute reliability.

PDC Calgary | Leadership Turnaround

Took over a struggling manufacturing facility and led its complete transformation. Focused on culture, efficiency, and quality, Rick rebuilt the team, restructured operations, and returned the company to stability.

Elevated Abilities | Community Health Startup

Co-founded and scaled a multidisciplinary service for children with disabilities. Now serving over 200 Alberta families, the organization is known for its inclusive care model and exceptional team of therapists.
